BizCom promotes August Anderson to vice president

We are thrilled to announce the promotion of August Anderson to vice president!

In her new position, August will manage account service teams that oversee the creation and execution of PR and digital marketing communications programs for high profile clients such as Neighborly, Little Caesars, Edible, Intelivideo, Getaround, asTech and more.

August says the thing she enjoys most about working at BizCom is the teamwork and the way the agency celebrates everyone’s accomplishments. She loves how everyone brings a unique perspective or area of expertise to the table, and she is constantly learning from her coworkers.

“To know that my bosses and my teammates trust me to take on this position is an honor,” August said. “Since my first day as a member of this agency, BizCom has always empowered me to accomplish more than I knew I was capable of, leading to great results for our clients and new business opportunities. I’m excited to continue collaborating with our topnotch team to deliver excellent results for our growing client roster.”

August joined BizCom in 2018 after earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in integrated strategic communication from the University of Kentucky and quickly rose to the role of account supervisor, where she gained experience working with franchise development and consumer awareness programs. In addition to all of this, she has played a key role in integrating PR programs alongside the agency’s digital division.

Get to know a little more about August

Fun fact: “I spent my first two years at the University of Kentucky as a member of the school's collegiate dance team. I got to dance on the sidelines of sporting events, participate in local community outreach programs, and I even traveled to China with the team to entertain fans at international exhibition basketball games. I’m long retired now, but it was an amazing experience for which I’m incredibly grateful!”

Favorite ice cream flavor: “Graeters double chocolate chip”

What would you name your boat if you had one and why: “Liberty, after my family’s yellow lab who I grew up alongside. She was such a good girl, and I think she specially picked out my current dog Charlie for me once she got up to doggie heaven! They have the same smile :)”

What’s the most useless talent you have: “There’s hardly a song out there that I haven’t heard or don’t know most of the lyrics to… And the songs I know best are typically from decades before I was even born. However, my singing skills are questionable according to others (although I personally think I’m an excellent singer and a pro at “carpool karaoke”).”

When you're not working, we can find you… “Walking my dog Charlie, or exploring Chicago with friends! I may have lived here for over a year now, but the first year doesn’t really count since I spent most of it quarantined in my little apartment due to the pandemic… This summer, I’m getting to be a tourist in my own city.”
