Whew! That was fast. As in how fast some of BizCom Associates’ clients have been growing over the last couple of years. We know this by the PR and headlines we generate for their soaring revenues, domestic and international growth, new company records and more. And now, the 2016 Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies knows it too.
Specifically, we say congratulations to Pinot’s Palette and Dwyer Group, two of the honorees on this year’s Inc. 5000 list and all-star clients on the BizCom Associates roster as well. So, what’s their secret? A closer inspection of these two winners reveals something amazing about their respective organizations and the franchise industry overall. In their cases, being judged for growth over the last four years among the Inc. 5000 entries showed that franchise organizations, young and old, are making big things happen.
System growth has no age-limit in franchising
Here are two very different franchisors. One organization is 35 years old. The other is seven years old. And both are growing at break-neck speed.
Pinot’s Palette has evolved from bootstrap beginnings and its startup days into the fastest-growing paint-and-sip franchisor in the world. The company ranked 1,756 on the list and has seen 212% growth within the last three years. To date, Pinot’s Palette has more that 180 studios open or in development, with a network that now stretches across the U.S. and into Canada.
However, youth is not a prerequisite for this list. The Dwyer Group is a legend in franchising that has been considered a big player by others for quite some time. That makes it all the more impressive that it could post a rate of growth – going from big to even bigger – to make this list for a second time in the company’s history. Dwyer Group ranked 4,742 on the list and today has a franchise network that includes 12 service brands and more than 2,600 franchise locations across 11 countries. Annual systemwide sales have increased by nearly 50% over the last couple of years to $1.3 billion, both by organic growth and acquisitions.
Embracing technology has been a game-changer
While both of these BizCom Associates clients have their respective competitors, they also champion technology and a way of doing business that sets themselves apart. That has been an attractive aspect for prospective franchisees looking to join the best-of-breed in those industries.
Pinot’s Palette points to a proprietary software and innovative franchise model for attracting great franchise operators and expanding quickly. Co-Founder and CEO Craig Ceccanti shares that approach in this VIDEO.
Meanwhile, Dwyer Group has married back-of-the-house technology across its service brands with great consumer-facing technology, such as texting customers a name and photo of the service professional who will be arriving at their house for a service. And that exceptional customer focus brings us to another important point for fast-growing private companies.
These BizCom Associates clients are devoted to an incredible customer experience
The growth of both organizations can be traced to an approach to the customer experience that rises above the rest. Pinot’s Palette prides itself on an upscale occasion. That has led the franchisor to roll out brand updates, studio updates and a loyalty program to match the high expectations it continues to set for guests. You can see a video about it HERE.
And then there is the Code of Values that has become famous at Dwyer Group and across its service brands. That Code has been the source of books, “Undercover Boss” episodes on CBS, and a movement to Live R.I.C.H. that promotes respect, integrity, customer focus and having fun in the process for the business. The culmination of that focus has led to customers giving their business to Dwyer Group service brands in growing numbers and, likewise, those brands are attracting more franchise prospects that live and lead with values.
Yes, they are deserving winners of the Inc. 5000 honor. And as their PR agency, it’s one more incredible headline all of us at BizCom Associates are proud to promote as well.
